On Friday, a colleague and I boldly entered Lift C, hereafter referred to as the Lift of Death. The lift was supposed to take us downstairs. What it actually did was
a) close the doors
b) make some disturbingly mechanical noises
c) lurch violently 2 feet upwards.
d) come to a complete standstill.
Luckily the "door open" button worked and we were able to jump down the short distance to the safety of the lift lobby floor.
I bet the guys at Shindler are having a big laugh about that one....

They'll have filmed it on the lift camera and you will have become an internet sensation quite literally before your feet touched the ground. Coming soon to a cable channel near you - see under "When Lifts Go Bad"...
This mild mannered inner city lift is on a rampage through central Hong Kong..... etc etc.
Tune in after the break for the exciting conclusion of "When good lifts go bad!"
Have you ever played the lift game? It is brilliant but only works in HK.
When you get into a lift, the busier the better, let everyone press the button to their floor and then stand in front of the button panel. Then don't move and watch people get really wound up when they can't press the close door button but have to wait half an extra second for the doors to close. It is the most fun you can have in a lift, except the obvious.
in IFC2 there are two panels, so I have to engage the help of an accomplice.
